This is a story of a deck of 500 cards that were lost and then found and then returned to their rightful owner.
The story begins at Mornington Station Gibb River Rd. We spent the day at Sir John Gorge, we had walked about 1 km down the gorge and found a lovely spot under a rock with some shade. Maya found a deck of 500 cards on a ledge so we lazed around and played cards and swam
See photo from earlier post above
Maya decided to keep the cards and put them in her trusty backpac.
Yeah so what I hear you so say. Fast forward to Karajini after we swim at Fern pools we bump into a family that we have seen along the way at different camps. Upon talking to them we were discussing places and what we did etc. They told us that they had spent the day at Sir John gorge and lazed around and played cards on the banks of the gorge they then mentioned that in fact they lost the cards that day!!! DA DA DAHHHHHH.
We ask them "was it a pack of 500 cards"?????
They look surprised "Yes"they answer.
We all looked amazed.
Yes in fact we had their deck of 500 cards.
So after a of journey 19 days 1500kms not including side trips the cards were returned to their rightful owners at Kalamina Gorge Karajini National Park.
