Bell Creek swim hole to Mt Hart Station 12th August

We left our camp and set off for Windjana Gorge. As we travelled along we were deciding how to finish our time out here as we had the car booked in for a service in Broome. The rumour on the Gibb was that Mt Hart was closed. As we passed their gate we saw a car coming out we hit the brakes turned around and enquired as to what was going on with staying up at the camp ground. Woo hoo it was open just the restaurant and rooms were closed. So change of plan and off we went. The road in was bad in some spots but that's what it's like out there. We pulled in and there was only 2 other groups in the whole campground. Fantastic. What was not so fantastic was the fridge in the van had snapped a pipe on the bumps and the van was full of ammonia. It nearly knocked us over. So everything out and all Windows and vents open. Lucky there was a free washing machine so I could wash the kids bedding as it was full of ammonia also. The other bonus was that the girl working there opened the bar so beers and laundry😁. There was a great river to swim in right in front of our camp and the place just got quieter and quieter until one night we had it to ourselves. We stayed 4 nights we had a few lazy days and explored the gorges the other days. I think we got to experience the best of Mt Hart without the busy of tours etc. We were nearing the end of our time on the Gibb and this seemed a fitting way to just sit and reflect on this journey of the Kimberly.
