We left for Drysdale Station. On the way we stopped off for swim in the Gibb river which is just after the turn off on the Kalumbaru Rd it was beautiful and refreshing you can free camp there on either side of the river and there is also a fantastic Art site. Nash said it was his favourite so far
Drysdale Station is a stopping point on the way to Mitchell Plateau or Kulumbaru. It has fuel and a few supplies. It is a bit of a blokes world out there and the staff are efficient but not so smiley. We were not going to do the Mitchell Plateau but guess what here we are. The station owner told us there was a great swim spot about 2 kms down the road past the cattle yards so we went there. A beautiful spot with rope swing and all. As we were getting ready to leave a local indigenous guy who was camped there as he was doing the 2021 census, says "I have been looking for you fella's". He says "don't swim there there are crocs in there". He said he could hear us but couldn't find us. I thanked him for the info. Adam and I think we used up one of lives there!! The guy at station said the other guy didn't know what he was talking about. However the indigenous guy had grown up there and his family so I think I know who I believe.
